Shall the City of Montrose hereby amend Art. I Sec. 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, Art. II Sec. 2, 4, 9, Art. III Sec. 1, 4, 7, Art. IV Sec. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23 Art. V Sec. 5, 19, Art. VI Sec. 3, 5, Art. VII Sec. 1, 2, 3, Art. VIII Sec. 1, 2, 3, 5, Art. IX Sec. 3, 5, 6, and Art. X, Sec. 1 of the Charter of the City of Montrose and Art. IV Sec. 24, 25, Art. VIII Sec. 9 be hereby added to the Charter of the City of Montrose, to:
remove gender specific language;
remove redundancy within definitions throughout the Charter;
allow for any City Council Member a maximum of eight consecutive years in office;
require public notice of meetings on the City's website;
clarify the number of City Council Members required to enter into executive session;
clarify Council Member terms and election years;
remove editor's notes;
change the requirements for the recall of a Council Member;
update franchise and public utilities to conform to state and federal law;
remove the residency requirements for the municipal judge;
clarify the City Attorney section;
have oath's of office specific to titles under such Sections;
allow the City Clerk additional time to certify signatures on petitions for referendum and initiatives?
